Marlins Acquire Jorge Julio
According to Baseball Digest Daily, the Diamondbacks traded reliever Jorge Julio and cash to the Marlins for Yusmeiro Petit today. Fantasy leaguers, get on it. The team confirmed that he'll slide right into the closer role.
Pretty good return for Arizona; Petit was the main piece in the Carlos Delgado trade last winter. Petit put up some excellent numbers in Double A in '05 but scouts weren't enamored with his stuff. Sure enough, his deception wasn't enough at Triple A last year and his strikeout rate dropped significantly.

jorge julio over ryan dempster?

That is something I've asked myself...I'd lean slightly toward Dempster.

You telling me the Marlins cannot do better than Julio? Lindstrom and Owens have impressed.

My Bench:
Bonds
Delmon Young
Garza
Wang
Anibal Sanchez
Who do I drop if anyone?

Tim, you should put out some sort of fantasy guide to answer the above questions, and many more.
I have to wonder, the press likes to talk about the Marlins resurrecting the careers of old relief pitchers, i wonder if the Marlins are starting to believe it too.

Drop Wang. He's the most likely to regress. Bonds will have a big year and the rest are good. Maybe Garza won't be super effective this year either.
