GM Trade Profiles

I've added a new link on the sidebar under MLBTR Features called GM Trade Profiles.  So far I've looked at Kenny Williams, Brian Sabean, Kevin Towers, and J.P. Ricciardi.  Who would you like to see next?  Maybe down the road I'll do the same GM evaluation in regard to free agents and waiver pickups.

I'd like to see a profile of Walt Jocketty. He never seems to make bad trades (Excluding Mulder for Haren, but who knew?).

I would like to hear Theos. I have been pretty hard on him since '04. It would be interested in seeing your opinion.

I would like to see Theo for no other reason than to point out to people he didn't trade Hanley for Beckett, he didn't work for the Sox at the time.

What about Dave Dombrowski or Terry Ryan??

I would love for you to do one on JS. He has a great track record with trades, but he also recently has lets some good players go. I would like to remember who traded jermaine dye and jason schmidt for. Just an idea, but i think JS would be a prime candidate to look at.

I think seeing theos and billy beane would be interesting. John Scherholtz would be cool too.

All of the above, but the top on my list would be Beane. Mulder, Hudson, Koch, the list goes on.

Tim Pupura! He took over a typically good-but-not-great team and lead them to the World Series his first year, and has promptly done little to nothing to ensure a repeat.

Minaya, Beane, Schuerholz, Cashman, Epstein, Melvin, Ryan

Purpura, whatever. Every time I see his name, I think of poop.

Pat Gillick!

Pat Gillick!

I hate when people say it wasn't Epstein that didn't trade for Beckett. He was in constant communication with Hoyer and Cherington during that time. That trade would have went down with or without Theo.

Minaya...hands down.

I'd like to see Purpura, but I imagine a lot of people want to see how their GM ranks. My guess is Purpura would be in the bottom 5. Anyone could write a blank check to Clemens or Lee. It takes a very special person to be able to trade 3 excellent prospects for a 4.5 era pitcher in his walk-year.
jatorres, come on. Poop? When I think of Purpura, I think of this:

Give me Jim Bowden. I know, a lot of times he drives you crazy with his inflated ego. However, he has made some excellent moves since becoming Nats' GM. Last year's Lopez-Kearns-Wagner trade was a STEAL!! He gave Dmitri Young a 2nd chance and it looks like Young will be a fine replacement until Nick Johnson returns later in the season from his broken leg. Then, Young can be dealt for more prospects for my rebuilding team at the trade deadline.

How about doing evaluating some small market GM such as Melvin, Littlefield and Ryan? Big market GMs can throw money at FA to fix thier trade problems.
