What the heck is up with Kenny Williams who does stupid stuff like this? Can somebody fire Williams already?

This probably came down to keeping mac or keeping erstad. Erstad is more versitile (though disabled) and costs less, so I assume thats why they chose him.

Ummmm, would you like to explain that ChiBears08? The Sox save a million dollars, they have absolutely no need whatsoever for Mack, so what is the problem with the move?

I hope this wasn't so they could put Willy Mo Pena in as a starter.

It was a salary dump. Jesus Christ, people, you act like Mackowiak was Paul Konerko.

beauhoopman mac is a great utility player batting.278 with 6 homers in limited at bats being a pinch hitter that whats wrong with that. And i don't see the minor leaguer being tat good with KW only getting a single A pitcher for Iguchi when a bunch of teams were in need for one.

who cares what they got for him - he's a backup. He's only valuable for a team in the playoff hunt.
Maybe they got a kid who'll become something in 2 or 3 years.

why is Towers accumlating utility outfielders like my Dad buys lottery tickets? Termel Sledge, Jose Cruz Jr., Scott Hairston, Rob Mackowiak...

Mac has had a pretty good year at the plate and the Sox were showcasing him in LF and 1B over the weekend.
The trade was not unexpected, I hope Kenny got a decent prospect in return this time.

Who cares.
Another move. Gotta love this day.
I heard the Pads were looking for Dye or Dunn, and they come up with Mac. Well, let the Friar fans speak their mind. I guess they're not happy.

Thank goodness. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but I was sick of watching him play the OF. Now SD has to.
