The email exchange between Graziano and Sloane is absolutely hilarious. A must read for anyone with a few minutes of downtime.

That has to be the single greatest e-mail exchange of all time.

That was the best read of the day!

So is your mom!!

classic!

Now, I don't play baseball but I am currently looking for work & that's the type of attitude I'd like around me. I wonder if he does independent type things like that? Freakin' hilarious.

Wow, that was pretty absurd. It looked more like a rant by Baseballguru on an MLBTR thread then a discussion between a professional (supposedly) sports writer and a MLB player agent. That is a problem with the sportswriters these days. Graziano even admitted to egging the guy on, and just goes to show that there are probably a lot more writers who write tainted stories because of some sort of personal bias.

Not to say that Delgado's agent wasn't also a supreme jerkoff. But Graziano at one point says, I mean come on, this guy is an agent!

Yeah, and you are a sportswriter working for a newspaper! You are supposed to write objectively, not get into pissing matches with somebodies agent and then publish the whole thing for everybody to read. Nice little publicity stunt for Graz and his paper, but both guys acted unprofessional, however entertaining that was.

I wouldnt give a pair of sweaty socks for Millwood, who is old, hurt, expensive and in the end a very average pitcher.

Id like to see the yankees trade kei igawa to the Padres and take jim edmonds in return. I realize they would have to eat a bunch of igawas contract but bring in Jimmy and see what happens. Could he play 1st base. he was a great center fielder. Left handed hitter that could be a great fit.

That was a great email exchange. I haven't used the "So is your mother" line at work recently. Maybe it's time to bring that bad boy back.

Considering Edmonds was released over the weekend, I don't see that trade happening.

With Mark Prior's setback, an Igawa trade makes sense for the Padres. Especially since Peavy & Young are the only locks for the 2009 rotation.

How about Paul McAnulty for Kei Igawa? A LH bat that can handle 1B and back-up OF duty. I'd like to see that trade made once Chase Headley is ready to be called up.

Igawa would ideally lead to Estes' release, with a bullpen of Hoffman, Bell, Meredith, Henn, Corey, Germano & Ledezema, and Hampson, Cameron & Hensley in the wings. Not too shabby.

Hey here is my revised updated Mock Draft. But you still might disagree with some things Sorry to put this in something that is not a draft rumor but that comment about Posey and the Rays up top required me to change the List a little. Along with recent articles on mlb.com please respond:

1) Rays - C Buster Posey, because of that comment up top, still could go with Tim Beckham or Brian Matusz
2) Pirates - SS Tim Beckham, this is very much dependent on if the Rays take Posey. But I think that the Bucs should be thrilled.
3) Royals - RHP Aaron Crow,Royals will likely go with their hometown guy to build a great future rotation. Despite his recent struggles in the first inning he is still 10-0.
4) Orioles - LHP according to mlb.com the O's are very interested in him and will likely take him if he's there.
5) Giants - 3B Almost by default the Giants get the best player in the Draft.
6) Marlins - LHP/1B Kyle Long, I know it's a stretch but the Marlins love impact young talent i.e. Chris Volstead, but they could take Brett Wallace or someone like that.
7) Reds - RHP Tyson Ross, great player need impact players. But could go with Brett Wallace or Buster Posey.
8) Chi Sox - 1B Brett Wallace, in a system depleted by trades this high draft pick will help, they could go with Jacob Thompson here though. But if you could call anything in their systme a strength, it's their right handed pitching.
9) Nationals - RHP - Tim Melville, good young pitcher, restock the system.
10) Astros - 2B Jemile Weeks, could go with Gordan Beckham here but he might cost a bit much. Weeks is a safe bet and has blazing wheels.
11) Rangers - 3B Ethan Martin, with Hank the Spank about move on to a winning team, they need some depth there. And they'll have to breakout the checkbook for this guy.
12) A's - SS/2B Gordan Beckham, Beane gets hit guy, fits the bill of what is lacking in the System (Not Much) and he'll reach the bigs soon.
13) Cardinals - RHP Jacob Thompson, Need help everywhere, but other than Adam Wainwright and Jamie Garcia, their piching future looks dim.
14) Twins RHP - Gerrit Cole, they like their High Schoolers, Cole is a great young arm, has a high celling, should help soon.
15) Dodgers - SS Harold Martinez, Miffed about missing out on Cole, select a payer at a position they need, with Furcal leaving.
16) Brewers - C Kyle Skipworth, the only glaring hole in the farm system.
17) Jays - 1B Eric Hosmer, the Jays need the high class talent so they'll spend the money.
18) Mets - 1B Yonder Alonso, great player, high celling should help soon at that glaring hole called first base.
19) Cubs - RHP Luke Burnett, Pitching never hurts, and in a system like the Cubs it actually helps.
20) Mariners - OF Jordan Danks, Aging outfield will need a speed boost soon, Danks fits perfectley.
21) Tigers - OF Isaac Galloway, wanting a great player they got one, not to much of a celling but a great arm, with a raw bat.
22) Mets - Aaron Hicks, aging outfield will get a boost from Hicks. ETA 2011.
23) Padres - LHP Walker Kelly, Pitching good but need to develop some for the long run.
24) Philies - RHP Daniel Webb, Organization is very weak, but they should develop some high potential high school pitchers to join Hammels.
25) Rockies - RHP Hunter Cervenka, piching will always be a need for a team in the high altitude.
26) D-Backs - RHP Quintin Miller, More develoing pitchers is never a bad thing.
27) Twins - SS Brandon Crawford, High School infielders have let them down before, so they'll go with a college guy.
28) Yankees - 1B/OF/LHP Ike Taylor, great versibility, power hitter power pitcher. Should get a big bonus from the Yanks.
29) Indians - LHP Brett DeVall, young arm could be great, he's a high risk, high-reward kind of guy.
30) Red Sox - 3B Jermaine Curtis, has had a great year so far improved his 1st round chances, the Sox like his power stroke, could be great.
This I feel is pretty accurate.

you DO realize you just did a 30 pick mock draft for 2008..

and left off Smoak???

you left out the names of the players you think the Orioles and Giants will pick.

definatley sorry about that. Had a deadline. I had Brian Matusz going to the O's and Pedro Alvarez going to the Giants. Then Smoak going to the White Sox at 8, then Brett Wallace going at 10 to the Astros, pushing Weeks down to the Cards at 13, then Thompson to the Tigers at 21 and Galloway to the Twins at 27, pushing Crawford out of the 1st round.

Here just let me fix it.
1) Rays - C Buster Posey, because of that comment up top, still could go with Tim Beckham or Brian Matusz
2) Pirates - SS Tim Beckham, this is very much dependent on if the Rays take Posey. But I think that the Bucs should be thrilled.

8) Chi Sox - 1B Justin Smoak, in a system depleted by trades this high draft pick will help, they could go with
9) Nationals - RHP - Tim Melville, good young pitcher, restock the system.
10) Astros - 1B Brett Wallace, Impact Bat won't cause too much of a money problem.

20) Mariners - OF Jordan Danks, Aging outfield will need a speed boost soon, Danks fits perfectley.
21) Tigers - RHP Jacob Thompson, could be a closer, but a starter for now re-boots the farm system.

This I feel is pretty accurate.

My prediction is that you are correct on between 1 and 3 picks. Half the guys there won't be picked in the first two rounds(exaggeration).
