« Ryan Braun Contract Details | Main | Indians Prefer Infield Acquisition? »
Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies have signed lefty Glendon Rusch to a minor league deal. Rusch missed all of the 2007 season due to a blood clot in his lung. He struggled with his control in 19.2 innings with the Padres this year.
Rusch joins some familiar names in the Sky Sox (Triple A) rotation: John Koronka, Josh Towers, Valerio De Los Santos, and Franklin Morales. It looks like Cedrick Bowers has replaced Victor Zambrano in that rotation.
Renck also wonders whether the Rockies and Blue Jays could be a match given Colorado's outfield depth.

Wow, that really has the potential to run the gamut of emotions for Rox fans.
One second you get to celebrate yet another sterling signing by ODub. The Rox have now officially become the finest pitching junkyard in the history of baseball. I think some of these retreads may actually look forward to their release and ODub's pending call. I think he may actually bring these guys in so he can sit them at AAA so their prospects can see what NOT to do in their careers.
The Toronto talk has the potential to be interesting. Getting rid of Tavares may actually be addition by subtraction and free up ABs for Spilborghs. I wonder if the Rox may actually be able to step up their talks and get some of Toronto's SP for Holliday. The Rox may be able to dump salary and improve their staff at the same time. I know it's a long shot, especially with ODubs track record, but Holliday's bat would look pretty good in that lineup and if the Rox could land a solid SP they may actually have a chance to be competitive this year.
