You kidding me? This Hanley deal will turn him into the superstar he is about to become just a little bit sooner. Hopefully Marlins fans were awake when the news of Hanley's signing came down. They got what they wanted from Marlins management. Now they just need to go to the games and quit their bitching.

If I was a Marlin fan I would be pretty stoked about this deal, but if I was a Hanley fan I would be pretty nervous. This deal may be an indication that the Marlins are going to spend money but all it really did is make Ramirez the most tradable player in the league. Sure, if they trade him they are going to get a whole lot of talent back as Florida always does, but they will trade him nonetheless.

benjoua - I understand your logic about the Ramirez deal, but I would give Loria the benefit of the doubt on this one. He may be the Donald Sterling of baseball, but I think they may want to keep one superstar player around to open the new stadium.
As for the Webb thing, the D'Backs are stupid if they don't do it (not that I mind, being a Dodger fan). The guy hasn't even had a hiccup since he came into the league. As for his age, he just turned 29 on Friday. Extending him 3 years isn't exactly a huge risk.
