According to ESPN's Buster Olney, at least seven clubs have monitored Freddy Garcia's progress: the Mets, Red Sox, Braves, Yankees, White Sox, Rangers, and Mariners. It wouldn't be surprising if even more clubs show up to watch Garcia throw when he is able to audition. A midseason free agent has major appeal. The Indians are one additional club rumored to have interest.
Garcia remains a mystery - we don't know when he'll be ready, how much money he'll want, or how effective he'll be.

Out of the teams mentioned above, Bavasi seems to think that his team is actually in contention when he sold all of his future away for an ace who is ill-suited to be an ace. I.E. Berdard, so Garci might be a fit for the struggling team.

I certainly hope the braves are just "kicking the tires".... we certainly dont need any more pitching depth with substantial injury concerns, especially at a price 5-6 million, just makes no sense.

brewers seem like a fit.

Indians are trying to prepare for a post-C.C., Paul Byrd era. Stockpiling arms also allows them to trade one of the lefties (Laffey, Lee, Sowers, Huff, Lewis) for some offense.

Unlike my fellow Atlanta fan that posted previously, I wouldn't mind seeing Freddy in a Braves uniform for the remainder of this year. I think "substantial injury concerns" is a little bit unfair for Freddy.
