I wish the Padres would become better trading partners with the Athletics.

Why would the A's want to trade with the Padres? The Padres need bats MORE than the A's do.
The A's need SS, 2B, and 3B prospects to fill out the only weaknesses in the farm system.

i can't find the story off hand, but it seems to me that the brewers offered fielder a contract extension earlier in the year and nothing ever came of it.
