Only reasons why the Padres haven't fallen further is simply because the Rockies are worse and because the D-back have been slumping. I don't think Towers is hoping for another 82 win division winner with his team on top.

Padres should trade Giles to the Red Sox and get Masterson or Bowden and Moss.
