after that embarrassing explosion he had where he said he was "tired of *expletive* losing" i mean that was just funny, that man said like 10 f words 7 s words and managed to blaspheme for a pretty considerable amount of time

Weak. I actually think McLaren's a pretty good manager...stuck in a bad situation. 'Least his blood pressure will drop to a safe level; dude was gonna have an aneurysm (BTW- I spelled that right on the first try; holla! LOL). He'll probably never manage again, which sucks, but I'd be surprised if he isn't the bench coach or whatever they call it (Don Zimmer's job with the Yanks) for some team in short time. He's probably better off. The Mariners are a friggin' mess.
Wonder what Guru thinks- probably views this as part of their strategy from the beginning to lull the AL West into a false sense of security before striking with deadly precision.

Anyone who bats Jose Vidro, statistically the 2nd worst hitter in the AL, 2nd through 4th, or puts him in the lineup at all for that matter, should not be managing a major league team. It really is that simple. I'm not saying he has a tone to work with, because he doesn't, but that is just wrong.

...Let alone at DH ~ The single easiest (starting) position to fill in the game... Shoot, its easier to find a good DH than it is to find a good utility infielder...

Mclaren is best friends with Lou Piniella and turned down the Cubs bench coach job to coach the M's. Bet you he winds up working for Lou somehow.

Decided to give brief manager hiring/firing posts, it's the easiest thing to do.

This firing deserved attention because it means Jimmy Riggs is back in the manager's seat! woooohoooo

If I'm the Cubs, I don't want to give up Trammel. So don't sign Mclaren.

I'm with worldcupfever, Go Jimmy!
