i have to say, i think the stros are about 1 stud pitcher and 1 mediocre pitcher away from playoff capable. they are a great offensive team with a great ballpark (especially with the porch in left) and they have a lot of wepons just lacking a starter after oswalt and somebody to pitch before valverde.

Just goes to show that Sherman plays to the Post mantra: blow smoke until people start to believe. This guy should be hung out to dry for insinuations that are not true. More importantly; Why does MLBTR even post his fairy tale rants? You lose just as much credibility when you do.

My credibility does not go hand in hand with the journalists'; I think most people realize that. Readers come here for all the hot stove links; most are intelligent enough to decide who to believe.

Astros need alot more than 1 stud pitcher and 1 mediocre pitcher to be contenders.
That said Chronicle's 3rd writer, Ortiz, says they need to scrap this team too. He goes on to say Oswalt would probably approve a trade to a place of choice (lists Boston and Atlanta as possibilities)
Doesn't really matter though. The team probably can't trade off the real bothersome contract, Carlos Lee, and they really shouldn't try to sign free agent starting pitchers in the offseason and they have no minor league talent to trade or use for an upgrade. Which means this team is - SCREWED.

they're really not that far off from being at least respectable... though you can add a more consistent offense to bronx's list.

McDonalds is ten thousand times better than Pizza Hut, Lincecum shouldn't even consider it...
1. McDonalds
2. Wendys
3. Taco Bell
4. Burger King
5. Pizza Hut
