« Stark's Latest: Eyre, Sherrill | Main | Arroyo Off The Market »
Blue Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi told MLB.com's Jordan Bastian tonight that A.J. Burnett is "not going anywhere." He also has yet to have serious trade talks regarding other Jays veterans.
Ricciardi was careful when asked about the recent rumor of the team possibly offering Burnett an additional $2MM per year to remain with the team. He said ownership would have to be on board for something like that, but he's comfortable with the current situation.

JP is an idiot, he won't trade Burnett because he knows he's going to get fired. Why help out the team if your going to be fired.

If JP says he's not going to be traded, then there is a good chance he WILL be traded.

I think you guys are all missing the Fact that if the jays win this Series with the Rays they are very much back in contention.
More then likely however all the offers were less then what the Jays could get if he's a Type A.

Halladay isn't going anywhere. He's our ace and a key part of the Jays. Dev0 I agree with you, if the jays win the series with the Rays they are in contention. That is another reason why Burnett should stay. Bravesfanuc, no GM is going to purposely ruin their team if they know they're going to get fired, first of all it is stupid and secondly other people in the organization can stop a deal from being made considering the GM doesn't have complete control over the organization.
