Saturday linkage...

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution keeps asking whether the Braves should trade Mark Teixeira.
Bill Ladson of MLB.com reports several teams have inquired on the availability of Jon Rauch.
The Astros signed first-round draft pick Jason Castro.
Royals claimed Josh Newman off waivers. Newman had been DFA'd by the Rockies.

I'm wondering how much the Nats could get for Rauch. He's signed incredibly cheap for a good closer (or even an established reliever). Makes me wonder whether it's worth it or not to deal him...but I guess being the worst team in baseball with a good closer is like being a cow with a tuxedo...might look good, but still pointless.

Requesting permission to change Ladson back to "Baldson". Bill Ladson is famous among Nats fans for his frequent and bizarre misspellings of players' names, so your "Baldson" has made a lot of folks laugh in D.C. We call him things like Bub Ludson, Bull Lasdon, and Blob Landson.
