« Holliday, Fuentes Trades Unlikely | Main | Tigers Rumors: Schoeneweis, Ivan Rodriguez »
According to Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Tigers haven't asked the Pirates about Jack Wilson since last winter. So while they may be looking for a long-term shortstop, he's not the answer. Wilson was very nearly traded to Detroit for Jair Jurrjens a year ago.
Kovacevic says the Dodgers remain the top suitor for Wilson.

If the Dodgers acquire Wilson, where does that leave Nomar? Pinch hitter? Given what they gave up to get the middling rental of Casey Blake, I'm not optimistic that the Dodgers can swing an acceptable trade for Wilson.

Have you read about the trade the Yankees made with the Pirates?
Of course LA has enough to swing a deal. Pittsburgh's idiotic GM clearly thinks two fungo bats and a used jock constitutes "top prospects."
I'd guess Hu and some 25 year old AA pitcher who projects as a long reliever would be more than enough to get the deal done.

Being a pirate fan and just a fan of Baseball more so I can honestly say Jack Wilson is not as good as people think he hits no homers he is in a huge slump and his defense is overrated he makes great stops but his throws to first are wild I would give him a B- on defense maybe a B. Anyway the point here is ship him to LA not that the Dodgers will make any kind of playoff run.
The trade with the Yankees I'm not a huge fan of but we needed pitching depth bad and Tabata well only time will tell on him I guess.
By the way don't think the Dodgers won't give up anything a while ago there was a post on here saying they were prepared to offer us Matt Kemp for him so if they make that offer again I don't see us saying no.

That deal wasn't happening and was never going to happen. I am betting that any mention of Kemp also included Nady or Bay, as well as Wilson.
