« Felipe Lopez Signs With Cardinals | Main | Scott Eyre Designated; Red Sox Interested »
As expected, the Mariners designated struggling DH Jose Vidro for assignment yesterday. They had not been able to unload his contract on anyone. Vidro is hitting just .234/.274/.338 this year in 330 plate appearances. It shouldn't be hard to find a more productive DH.

About a day late on this breaking story, Tim. Mariner fans have already been dancing in the streets for going on 16 hours!

I think Vidro will forever be known as the anti-Edgar. Edgar of course, was loved by the city and fans, was our best DH, and always signed for an affordable team friendly contract. Vidro is hated by everyone in Seattle, is our worst DH in team history, and will be remembered as the worst contract aside from Sexson's in club history! Thank God he's gone!
