can the dodgers land cano/uggla and cc this offseason?

I was reading this chat, and you stated that the Cubs tried to acquire juan p. through the waiver wire. was that this year?

I'd give you guys Cano for; Hu,Kemp,Billingsley & Broxton.
Then the Yanks can sign, 'Orlando Hudson.'
They should also Re-Sign Giambi and Abreu, to 2 year contracts with a option, Sign Dunn to a 3 year contract, Trade Matsui for Lowry, Trade Kennedy for Salty (straight up.), sign Ben Sheets and re-sign Petite to a year contract, and sign Casey Blake and build up the bench, that would make the Yankees a contender for sure...

2.Jeter-SS
3.Abreu-RF
4.A-Rod-3B
5.Giambi-1B
6.Dunn-DH
7.Kemp-CF
8.Hudson-2B
9.Salty/Molina-C
1.Sheets-R
2.Mussina-R
3.Petite-L
4.Joba-R
5.Lowry-L

The Cubs acquired Juan Pierre in the offseason a few years ago. I meant that they already tried acquiring a speedy, no-hit CF.

amen to that, thanks.

Hey, Tim, I saw Nelson Cruz get mentioned in here, and he was mentioned like an hour before the deadline too, connected w/ the Reds.
--How much do you think it would take to get him?
--Would he clear waivers, or would this be an offseason move?
--Any chance he's next year's Carlos Quentin? (That's who I'm dying for the Reds to find! Whoever and wherever he is!)
--In general, who would your pick be to become next year's Carlos Quentin -- undervalued currently but primed for a breakout next year?

Why not ask for Ethier and Kuo?

Yankee fans are slowly unseating Cubs fans for the dubious title of most outrageously wrong evaluators of their own clubs talent.

does anyone think Seattle will try and shop Beltre or Ichiro this off-season?
