boras is a piece of trash. Hopefully these kids will finally smarten up and realize that the few extra bucks boras might make them its not worth the headache and the potential to set back your career as could happen to Alvarez now. the amount of draft picks a player falls for being with boras cancels out the amount of money they might earn.

Boras is a good agent most of the time. Yes, he'll piss you off when, as with my team and Matt White, he uses the rules to gain his clients the highest pay, but that's his job. And falling in the draft? That's his favorite strategy lately. Piffle.
No, the issue here is that he is *not* representing his client well, unless he actually thinks this gets Alvarez free agency, which it doesn't. His outcomes here are a) status quo with a delay in development time or b) returning to the draft next year, probably in a lower slot and for a smaller bonus. It's a lose-lose, versus Matt White or Travis Lee or others where his actions were win-win for the Scott Boras Corporation and for its clients.
Right now, this is a win-lose -- win for SBC, lose for Alvarez. I'm surprised the latter went for it.
