Richard Justice is one of the Houston Chronicle's booklickers of Drayton McLane and his Astros. Nobody owes Ed Wade anything except a pink slip and bus fare out of town. Wade is a weasel and too bad Chacon didn't choke him out.

No, I think a lot of people owe him an apology. There were a ton of people who didn't like the hiring and will still continue to judge every single move he makes like Purpura would have done better. But, Justice is the one that needs to apologize because he has been talking about how bad a GM he is since the Astros hired him. Only people that hate the hiring don't see that he has done a good job this year with what he was given.

The Jays should of played Eckstein more Mcdonald can only field Eckstein can hit his average was over 300 aganist lefties

"Richard Justice thinks many Astros fans owe GM Ed Wade an apology."

I'm sorry for saying you spent 90 million dollars on a whole lot of suck. It was only 89 million.

I'm sorry for not going far enough in trashing you on the Tejada trade.

I'm sorry for not going far enough in trashing you on the Brad Lidge trade.

The Stros are no better off today than they were when Wade took control. Recent 30 game run aside, this is still an awful team. Not much to get excited about in 09. They need a major overhaul.

bjsguess-Record says otherwise and I don't know how you can say they are a terrible team. They have the pieces, need to pick up 2 SP in the off season and I think they will be fine. Maybe some CF help if Bourn doesn't cut it, but I think they will be contenders if they get Sheets and a Lowe/Burnett/Garland
ArodSucksAtLife- Being I think you are a Yankees fan. How does spending 200+ for a whole lot of suck? Tejada trade has worked out well on both sides and weren't screwed at all. If you bring up Scott, we had no room for him in the OF. Lidge would never had done as good as he is doing in Philly if he was still here. You can blame that on Purpura when he had an opportunity during the last season to trade him to the Red Sox for some good prospects, I would have taken Murphy. But in other words you are just bashing Wade for the hell of it and aren't understanding what he had to do. The team sucked last year, so why not move some pieces around and see what you can do because obviously the team wasn't doing well they way it was set up last year.

I agree that the win loss record looks good. But, they went and traded for rentals at the deadline and are racking up wins against teams that are out of it who are playing their callups (minus Cubs and Cards). Obviously, the Astros can't do that since we have no prospects.

They should have unloaded veterans (Tejada, Loretta, Valverde) at the deadline to get prospects. Then they would have finished with a bad record, would not have to give up a pick if they sign a Type A, would have prospects in the system, and would get a high draft pick.

Seems like its all about image, and winning 90 games gives the illusion of a good team. Though, if you look deeper, nothing could be further from the truth.

The Astros SUCK!!! They are light years from being a contender ... 1- Cubs 2_ Brewers 3- Cardinals 4- Reds 5- Astros 6- Pirates, and the Pirates really dont count because they a minor league team!
