A look at what is being written around the Blogosphere...
- Goat Riders of the Apocalypse looks at Milton Bradley and sees a clubhouse cancer, but can't ignore his .999 OPS and wonders if he is the answer in right field for the Cubs.
- Pinstripes Published takes a look at the crop of free agent starting pitchers and speculates on who will sign with the Yankees, with the most likely being C.C. Sabathia, Jon Garland and Ryan Dempster.
- Chop-n-Change takes a look at which prospects it might take to land Jake Peavy, and wonders if a package built around RHP Tommy Hanson and OF Jordan Schafer could get it done.
- Talking Chop does not want to the Braves giving up prospects for Peavy and would rather see the Braves acquire pitching through free agency.
- First And Goal From Second Base warns that it will be a mistake for the Twins to trade Delmon Young.
- Twinkie Town takes a look at which Twins free agents could return (Nick Punto, Dennys Reyes) and the rest of the Twins offseason.

I think a deal could come to fruition with Scott Thorman being the centerpiece. He hit 19 HR’s last year and SLG’d a solid .465
The trade could be something like:
Scott Thorman
Chuck James
Matt Diaz
George Lombard
For
Peavy
You’d also get a frontline starter in James and an ML ready Centerfielder in Lombard. Maybe also toss in a couple low-A prospects with high ceiling…

No Milton Bradley, thank you. But then again, I don't know WHO I really want playing right in Wrigley.

I really dont like the idea of Bradley in RP and in the Cubs uniform. I really like the idea of trading for Brian Giles or maybe even signing Bobby Abreau?? They could maybe even trade for J. Damon? Where yall think?

RF**
Michael M.- who do you want in RF?

Scott Thorman, he of the .283 OBP ? LOL

I just stated that I don't know who I want in RF. Sure as heck don't want Bradley, though.
I mentioned in another entry that I'd be curious to see a 3-way with NYY and the Marlins, where we get Hermida and Jacobs, NYY get Lee and Florida get more prospects. Not sure who we'd send, though.

Garland, to the White Sox

Chuck James isn't much of a frontline SP. He had a pretty nasty injury too. I'd also not invest in Peavy. He's do for a BIG time injury meltdown. Hi delivery is real whacky.

Yes, he did hit 19 HRs.....in AAA.
Padres can get a lot more than what you posted in your offer. The Braves needed bats in their lineup last year and did not put Thorman out there. He is really just AAA roster filler at this point.

I would definately have no problem with sending Schafer to San Diego along with Roborough(sp?) and Locke. That seems to be what San Diego is looking for. Sending any combination of our 3 top prospects would be absurd. Wren shouldn't even think about sending Hanson, who threw a no-no earlier this year, to San Diego. And i understand that it was either A or AA but how often do you hear about even minor leaguers doing that?

I love the people that took dyaf96's response seriously.
You'd figure the George Lombard inclusion would give it away.

I wouldn't be so low on Bradley. He may've turned a corner. I know I liked it when I saw him in that group of Rangers players who slid on the wet tarp at Shea during a rain delay. Hamilton was out there, which made a lot of sense -- I could see him enjoying that type of thing, sober, just happy to be here, etc., But Bradley being out there -- one of a handful who were -- that was a surprise, and I took it to mean he and Hamilton got along.

Quick correction: I listed Dempster as very unlikely to join the Yankees.
