Trade Dye for prospects, Sign Lowe or Sheets, Put Swisher in left, Brian in center, and Quentin in right. Chris Getz at second.

I've heard that the ChiSox are possibly looking for both a 3B and CF. Since the Rockies may be trading Taveras and Atkins, how about packaging both of them to the Sox. I'm not really sure what the return would be though. Not Vazquez thought, he has a no trade clause to the NL West.

As far as Roberts goes would the Orioles be interested in a Delmon Young for Roberts swap (other players may need to be added) i have heard roberts may be able to play short which would be great for the twins he adds alot of doubles and a ton of speed aka twins baseball lock it up..... what do the orioles think of this

I think that is a pretty fair deal but they would more likely move Cassila to SS and play Roberts at 2B.

Well with Beckett not looking saint-like, though it was only one start, CC looks a tad more appealing.

If Rosenthal is going to drop that the Rangers offered a big package for Greinke at the deadline, he needs to come out and say who it was. I found nothing more than fans speculating about a Davis for Greinke deal. Neither teams fans seemed keen on that idea, both overvaluing their own player. So what was the offer Rosenthal?

Brewers have much higher odds than what is stated.

The Sox would probably like to keep Dye, but he is by far their most vaulable trading chip. He has had a great '08 batting .292 with 34Hrs and 96 Rbi's, has a very affordable $11 mil for next year and a mutual option in '10 for $11 mil too. Hes not young at 34, but has shown he can still field his position adequately. Wouldnt suprise me at all to see him shopped this offseason.

Rosen's arcticle does bring up an interesting point which is why haven't the Royals extended Grienke? There's going to be teams in more need of pitching and closer to contending than the Rangers. If the precident has been set that the Royals need more than Davis, then they can ask for alot for him. I think they are serious about moving him and getting alot for him.

The Royals haven't locked him up long term because he's a space cadet and they were waiting to see him put together a strong season without mental issues coming forward. Dayton Moore says that they will try. No one knows what Greinke is thinking, although with his fragile mental state, he doesn't belong in a place that's going to be hard on him, so I don't see why he wouldn't like to be in KC for a long time.

Yes I would be very interested in hearing what the Rangers "big offer" was....

How about Dye to the Rays?
Dye for Edwin Jackson and Fernando Perez?
I think that would fit! Don't know whether the Rays would like to add that much Payroll!
Then the Rays could get with one of Price/Niemann (if Price shouldn't throw more than 150 or so innings)/W. Davis as their 5th starter and the White Sox could play F. Perez (at least part time) in CF!

"How about Dye to the Rays?

My main question is are the rays looking for a right handed power bat? If so, thats not a bad deal. The '09 rays are gonna have to make room for Price in the rotation. Dye could DH, play an occasional OF too, Jackson could fill the role of 5th starter for the Sox, moving Richard to the pen as a lefty/ middle man.

How about Sonnanstine and Perez? For Jackson and Perez seems like a steal for the Rays. Maybe Jackson, Jennings, and Royster.

Sorry folks but the Whitesox rather trade Swisher for pitching then Dye. Ive heard several times that Kenny Williams would want J.D to end his career as a DH with Chicago

Edwin Jackson has done to much for this ray club this year i dont think they would trade for Dye-Dye is getting old even though his numbers are still high he starting to age little by little

It's a solid 4th starter in E. Jackson who showed lots of progress (1st arb year) and a great defensive CF with lots of speed (what they definitelly lack in Chicago) and under contract for 6 more years! Perez could be the leadoff hitter for Chicago ... he also has okay plate discipline and showed some power!
I don't know whether it's enough for 2 years of Dye (at about 12 Mio. each) but it should come close I think! Maybe add James Houser (LHSP, AA-Montgomery)?
Posted by: Burgi_14 | October 06, 2008 at 04:38 PM
... and the Rays need one more power bat behind Pena and Longo! Hinske's 2nd half was awful and Floyd is old and injury prone!
As whether they need a RH-batter? When Baldelli hits well (and will be resigned?) ... maybe not ... but otherwise ... yes ... as they have been not so good against southpaws and need power!

Teams in the playoffs needing something...
The Rays are in a dandy position. They already know they have a team that will compete well for the next several years. They can move Sonnanstein or Jackson and plug Price right back in, so I would definately be considering that option, but the GM also has to be looking at it like...if it's not broke don't fix it.

Dye to the Cubs????

"Dye-Dye is getting old even though his numbers are still high he starting to age little by little"
He is still younger, cheaper, and IMO better than FA sluggers like Giambi(38), Ibanez(38) and Abreu(35). Although not younger, he is definitely better and cheaper than what Adam Dunn will give you.

Boy Greinke sure would be a great fit in that yankees rotation, but i dont see him coming this way. I dont know how well he would handle the pressures of the new york media.

Why would the Angels want CC Sabathia they already got enough pitching with John Lackey,Ervin Santana, and Joe Saunder?Their main focus should be getting Mark Teixiera a long term contract...As for CC Sabathia he'll either be a Yankee or Dodger, most likely a Yankee because they will over pay for him,but Sabathia has said he'd like to pitch on the west coast and the only team i see making an offer is the Dodgers.
Posted by: JT89 | October 07, 2008 at 02:13 AM
I doubt CC ends up in dodger blue.
Dodgers need to focus on Manny, and cannot afford both.
