Athletics Sign Chris Schroder
The Athletics signed righty Chris Schroder to a Major League deal, according to the AP. Schroder is a 30-year old veteran reliever with a career 4.46 ERA. He pitched for the Nationals the past three seasons.

He was all right in 07, but he spent most of 08 in the minors for a terrible team so that doesn't say much for him.

I live in MD area and I watch the channel that shows Nats and O's games everyday... I'd say, if Schroeder goes back to 07 form, A's got themselves a great reliever

I would agree with Googles Do Nothing he was decent in 07 this past year he really struggled tho for Columbus as their joint closer but could turn out to something possibly, good organization depth type player..

This is the A's yearly "Acquire a veteran to be the 7th man in the bullpen" move. Which, to be honest, they didn't really need to do, as they could have just used, say, Ryan Wing instead.

The A's must now be favorites for the World Series. Because we all knew once they aquired Holliday that the AL West was there's. lol
