Francessa is a fat Met hater and thinks he knows everything

This time last year Omar Minaya allegedly "told" Francessa that the Mets WILL NOT get Johan Santana without parting with Jose Reyes.
Francessa continued with this facade until about a Week before the trade was actually completed, and long after it was well known that Reyes was not a necessity.
Point is, Francessa is either often used as a media tool by the Mets, or is completely making up stuff as he goes along, my guess is the latter.

Odd Massarotti provides a "best case scenerio" for the Red Sox where Mike Lowell is not on the team, yet fails to mention what the Sox would be receiving in return for him; I am pretty sure a bunch of teams would be happy to have Lowell, so despite his salary the Sox would probably get something in return.

I certainly am not one to believe Fatcessa, but I am happy that Sheets is not in the Mets' crosshairs. However, if Omar makes any major-league offer to Pedro Martinez, I might have to hang myself.

How many more years of injury plagued seasons and 5.00+ era for Minaya to realize that pedro and he should just leave so another team can waste money on him

How many more injury plagued seasons and ridiculous era for Minaya to realize that pedro is done, its time for another team to waste money on a washed up pedro. Pedro was was one of the most effective pitchers that have pitched but as soon as the Red Sox didn't re sign him, you could tell that they knew something, its been downhill ever since.

I agree that the Cardinals should probably trade Rick Ankiel. The guy's perceived value is pretty high, he's actually a pretty damn good player, with all the power and the big arm. I could definitely see a team like Philadelphia, either New York team or Cleveland going after him.
Could Josh Barfield and a pitcher work? Or maybe Jason Donald straight up for Ankiel?

Would a Kelly Johnson for Rick Ankiel swap make sense? 3 years of Kelly for 1 year of Ankiel would seem like a decent match, KJ would be a big upgrade over Kennedy, and Ankiel would add flexibility in the OF and a power bat the Braves could really use.
If the Braves do actually move on from Peavy this would give them the payroll flexibility to make big offers to a couple of free agent pitchers.

I really hope Ted Tuner does buy back the Braves. It would certainly make me happy.
