Good, that means Oquendo who was one of the people interviewing for that job will stay with the Cards.

SCORE! Oquendo is still a Cardinal! I can't wait for Tony to retire so he can become the manager after next season...

I am surprised to see so many managers coming through the A's organization and getting jobs as team managers.

"Sweet! We still got Joey Cora! The M's are miserable."
And, as far as I'm concerned, you can keep him. He would have been a horrible choice as the new manager.
Why? Well..
a. He's been studying under Ozzie Guillen for a while now--ewww.
b. He would've been a sentimental choice at a time when that's not needed. Sure, M's fans love to remember 1995 and the picture of Joey Cora crying, but how does that help us now?
c. He doesn't have the best track record in his brief time as a manager in the Mets' minor league system--this was for a few years before the White Sox hired him as a coach.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the hiring of Wakamtasu.
And imagine the fun M's fans will have typing the names of the new Mariners'GM(Zduriencik) and manager(Wakamatsu).
I predict some nicknames will be coming(Dr. Zoinks and Wakka-Wakka are good for me).

I think the M's sign administration people with the most ridiculous names out there...

great, so i cant pronounce the Gm's or the manager's name...excellent.

I think Seattle management wanted to try to fool Ichiro into thinking that they hired a Japanese manager.

Dr. Zoinks
