Tim...It appears that the Mets have non tendered Ambiorix Burgos and Argenis Reyes.

Tavaras is better as u think but I tell u guys that willy tavaras will have:

.260+ BA, 0-3 HR, 20-30 RBI's, 68+ steals and way better obp

this is for next year

the yankees should sign proctor as a long relief man

BIGPADRESFAN2009 - You are undoubtedly the most annoying, least knowledgeable poster on this site, which is really saying something. It really brings me down when I come on here and see all your nonsense. All I want for Christmas is for you to never ever post on this site again. I'm sure you'll respond to this comment with plenty of misspelled words and idiotic babble.

somebody tell me what the hell the brewers are doing right now, getting rid of capuano is the last thing we need right now, were not going to be able to compete for ben sheets, although i really dont care about that because who ever gets him have fun watching him in the trainers office the whole season telling them to look at his cut on his finger, the guy is not tough at at all and hes not even that good of pitcher in 08 he started like 10-0 and ended like 11-8, horrible if u ask me, another, the brewers should go after daniel cabrera, the guys has the same potential that manny parra has, then trade prince for either matt cain or another young starting pitcher, say a cameron prince bill hall type deal to the royals for dejesus and grinkie and teahen, if not, then trade cameron for melky and ian kennedy

Cf DeJesus
2B Hardy
Lf Braun
1B Teahen
Rf Hart
3B Gamel
SS Escobar
C Kendell
Pitcher

Rotation
1 Gallrado
2 Cabrera
3 Cappy
4 Soup
5 McClung

that could be a deep playoff team if u ask me

and pick up garland, trade soup for a back-up 3b with world series experience, then ur rotation is

1. Grincke
2. Gallrado
3. Cabrera
4. Garland
5. Cappy

no that is actually a GREAT team

Aquilino Lopez was the tigers best reliever last season...horrible move non tendering Lopez.

and u have money to spend, because ur dumpin 10 mil in cameron, about 9-11 mil in hall, 10 mil in soup, that around 30-35 mil to spend

Regardless of how many times he's caught stealing the fact remains that as a "slap" hitter with speed he can

a) get an infield hit
b) bunt for a basehit
c) reach on a walk

then steal second (and sometimes 3rd) and in effect "create" an extra base hit off the stength of his speed.

And as far as his stats at Coors field vs Petco that's not a good arguement because he's not the type of player that puts the ball in the air anyway, at either stadium. I watched a video highlight of him against the Whitesox where he stole 5 bases in one game. He is one of MAYBE a few players who can turn a walk, single or error into a triple. If you're a team that plays small ball or wants a way to create runs then this guy can help. I know the Yanks won't have space for him but even as a bench player for a team with a lot of movable players he would be valuable.

ex: Slow runner gets on 1st. Bring WIlly in. He steals 2nd. Moves to 3rd on a grounder or Sac fly. Socres on a out. Especially with so many C with poor CS rates.

The Brewers were obviously thinking with a "win now" attitude when they went and traded Laporta and others for CC and then offered him $100 mil/5 years w/ a 3 year opt out. There's is absolutely no reason why they couldn't go out and get:

Sheets for 2/28 avg 14mil
Randy for 1/8
Pedro or Smoltz or Wolf for 1/8 or 2/14

They could put out a staff of:

Sheets
Randy
Pedro
Gallardo
Suppan/Bush/Para

could really compete in the NL central. That would only cost them $22 mil for next year for Sheets and Randy which is basically what they offered CC and $60 mil less in total dollars. To put that money back in their pocket says to me that they can afford to compete but don't want to invest the money in the team. And if I'm a Brews fan that wouldn't sit well with me. How can they justify offering CC $20 per/$100/5 yrs but won't spend a 1/3 of that to put together a staff that might help accomplish the same thing (not saying Randy = CC) but you get my point. The Brews have maybe 2 or 3 years where they can afford all of their young players. To tear it down and rebuild again, or wait for draft picks to mature would be wasted because you won't be able to keep some of the guys you have now. But that's just a Yanks fan opinion.

I can't believe the Astros tendered Backe, but didn't Wigginton. I am mad as hell and am ready for McClane's cheap butt to sell the team.

For those thinking he will be cheaper than Blake, why are y'all thinking that? Blake signed first and Wigginton is going to want around the same contract as him. He will not go somewhere to platoon or somewhere where he will have to battle for a starting job when there are enough jobs out there for him to be starting. I saw someone up there ask about the rbi's. The reason it was so low is he was batting behind Lee and Berkman, who drove in all the runs. He carried the Astros the last month or two and will be missed in Houston.

Just wondering how long it is going to take for Oswalt to ask for a trade.

Drayton McLane sell the damn team. I hate your guts.

That is it I am quitting to make a comment post!!!! u will never see me write a post ever again!!!

Not technically a non-tender, but a milb free agent is Daniel Ortmeier, formerly of the Giants. The Giants have attempted to hide his free agent eligibility (didnt know they tried that stuff?) Dan was totally screwed by Giants last year, but hit .287 with 6HR in 157 AB's last in 2007. Very good OF/1B with huge speed, 6'4" with power.
