« Brewers Agree To Two-Year Deal With Fielder | Main | Odds And Ends: Casey, Garland, McLouth »
The A's have signed Justin Duchscherer to a one-year, $3.9MM contract to avoid arbitration, according to ESPN.com.
Duchscherer had asked for $4.6MM, while the team offered $3MM, so this is just about right in the middle. There's also a $150K bonus if Duchscherer makes 32 starts.

Now go out and get Sheets before the Rangers do.

Sheets will most likely be staying in the NL.

He should have asked for a bigger bonus for 32 starts, as his health is the only thing keeping him from being a really good pitcher.

If Duchscherer was to stay healthy for a full year and make 32 starts a year then he would be one of the better pitchers in the American League. Before the All Star Break, Duchscherer led the American League in ERA for starters with a 1.82 ERA in 16 games started. However, after the All Star break, Duchscherer made only 6 starts and posted a 4.91 ERA with no wins.

I wish the Marlins could of got Duchscherer. Great young pitcher that I picked up for my fantasy team last year.

need to sign him to a long term deal
and with Sheets idk he is a good pitcher but not healthy
but if he is cheap enough why not give him a chance?
Beane needs to understand we need one more veteran pitcher
