The Astros rotation, brought to you by Ed Wade. Come one, come all, nows yer chance, step right up!
Dude, where's Randy Wolf when you need him.

The Astros should hold real try outs ala Major League style. See if we can get a Wild Thing or someone out there. This is borderline ridiculous. Seriously, invite fans and anyone to try out for a roster spot, and gaurentee that person a major league minimum and see what they can do. Maybe Drayton will sell enough tickets to get a real arm then.
Signed,
Frustrated Stros fan.

paigian- This is not Wade's doing. Drayton is at fault and should be held accountable for his actions in completely letting this off-season go w/o picking up one solid pitcher. Hampton was a nice signing, but should not have been your big move of the off-season when Sheets was/is out there. I am extremely frustrated that they didn't even try to offer a $6-8 million a year, plus incentives to Sheets. It would have pleased some of the Houston fans

No offense Ben, but the Mackowiak signing was known yesterday.
What's with the Mets signing all these former Red Sox (Cora, Snyder, Switzer)?
At this point, I want Houston to sign Sheets- it'd be good for my Pick 'Em! Wade out to try to resign Wolf, if McLane can. That, with a decent lineup, plus a great second half surge last year would them NL Wild Card favorites, personally.
I do say, if the 'Stros got someone from the public to play for them, I'd watch them more. I always have liked the underdog, even as a Yankee fan (except against the Yanks!).

The Astros have made it known that they’d like to sign a type A and type B FA starting pitcher, but due to “economic hardships” (that don’t seem to be hindering other teams from spending, might I add) cannot afford to do so.
To his credit, however, Drayton McCheap (formerly Drayton McMoney) has vowed to keep ticket prices in 2009 the same, while other teams are seemingly raising their’s.
I don’t know; take it for what it’s worth. Not to get all political and what not on this site, but maybe with a new president things will soon turn around, and they’ll make a big late off-season/mid-season move. No?

Drayton McClane is one cheap $0N 0F @ B1TC#.
I hate his guts and hope he burns in #311.
He doesn't give a D@MN about winning as long as he has his money.
Sell the team you moron.
And if they don't sign Ben Sheets(which they won't...), I'd like to see Paulino in Backe's spot.
