Good sign, only bad season the guy really had was his season in Boston. His pinch hitting power from both sides of the plate from both sides and ability to hit from both sides is a plus. Only thing that may have been better is Sean Casey? Unless he is maybe wanting to play in the East

Jeez.. Could I have written both sides more often? Sorry people...

It isn't that Clark's power comes and goes, it is really that he doesn't make enough contact to show that power in some years. The constant is his OBP and the threat of power, which are hard to deal with. That he is a switch-hitter doesn't hurt either.

A real classy vet, hope he does well for the D'Backs.

For a mid-market team with less than $4mil left to spend on this offseason, Tony Clark is a complete and utter waste of money -- especially when Josh Whitesell is already on the 40-man and would have produced just as much, if not more than Clark will.
Oh well. The "9th-inning Replacement" is back.

I agree that I think we could have spent the money otherways but I do think he is very valuable in his leadership.
He's basically a highly paid bench coach who decides he wants to suit up every few days. ;)
