Twisted Sister? I'm now glad he didn't come to Boston.
Posted by: Scott Candage | January 06, 2009 at 11:26 PM
Mark Teixeira just lost a lot of credence with me.
Twisted Sister is horrible.
Posted by: melonis rex | January 06, 2009 at 11:36 PM
FOR GOD SAKES:
Mark Teixeira is a good player.
But he isn't one of the elite ever. This man has definitely been sweated over more than Arod does for that 50 year old popstar.
Teixeira is not worth articles telling you that he was lured by a Twisted Sister montage.
A "Twisted Sister Montage" ????
I don't know what's more weird about the Twisted Sister montage presentation - The fact that the Yankees have to air musical tributes to Marky Teixeira, or the fact that ol' Teix likes that band.
Posted by: baseball09 | January 06, 2009 at 11:40 PM
psh, the red sox would have paid the band to play live for just him if he let them in on it
Posted by: 04Forever | January 06, 2009 at 11:42 PM
STFU.
Posted by: ArodSucksAtLife | January 07, 2009 at 12:12 AM
We need more Teixeira updates!!! I still don't know how the Middle East feels about it.....sheesh.....
Posted by: MR Tibbs | January 07, 2009 at 12:15 AM
Awesome, more reason to hate this guy.
Posted by: NedCollettiClueless | January 07, 2009 at 12:16 AM
The Tony Massarotti piece is nothing enlightening or news breaking. All he did is collect most of Teixeria's quotes that pertained to the signing from the press conference, the YES network interviews, Michael Kay's ESPN 1050 radio interview, Mike Francesa's WFAN radio interview and the MLB network interview. Then he organized them into a coherent list the chronicles the deal. Anyone can do that, even I could. I think we all know the Red Sox were the frontrunner after the Angels dropped out. Tex and Scott Boras have done a good job to portray it differently and suggest that the Yankees were a top choice throughout. Mazz is suggesting that somewhere along the line the Red Sox took a wrong turn. I don't think we will ever know what actually happened, but Boras, Tex, and the Yankees are spinning the situation in there favor to show he is a true Yankee, which from their viewpoint makes perfect sense.

God I hate this guy. Watch his press conference. John Henry should pay Chuck Norris that extra $10MM that he didn't pay Teixeira to roundhouse kick Teix in that baboon's rear end he calls a face.
Posted by: Cinco Ocho | January 07, 2009 at 12:54 AM
Who really cares? The guy already signed, enough about him.

That is ironic.

Hey ArodSucks, I agree that is funny. I'd say it was intentional to make a point about his writing, but then I'd be lying. It's a simple typo, everyone does it we're not perfect, that's why I usually proofread.

Jason Giambi signed with the A's 1/4 with a 5 option 1M buyout

Hell yeah they are. I can picture his big doofy ass jammin' out to Twisted Sister.

OK...Now on to The Hot Stove Offseason...
Posted by: Cyyoung | January 07, 2009 at 05:14 AM
Wow, I just gained a few respect points for Tex, and lost a few for commenters in this thread. Twisted Sister is a fantastic band, and Dee Snider did his part to bring down that pesky PMRC. It's fine if you don't like the band, but calling them horrible just makes you sound ignorant.
Posted by: PJH | January 07, 2009 at 06:53 AM
I think the signing of Tex forever puts to rest the idea that 2 world championships in 86 years somehow makes you the cream of the crop around the world. This signing just illustrates the racism and bad environment in Boston that many do not want to be a part of.
Posted by: Russell | January 07, 2009 at 08:01 AM
Since Teixeira grew up as a Yankee fan was there ever any doubt that he would not play for the Red Sox?
Posted by: A | January 07, 2009 at 08:17 AM
"Twisted Sister is a fantastic band, and Dee Snider did his part to bring down that pesky PMRC."
First of all, they compromised. Neither Dee Snider nor anyone else "brought down" the PMRC. Hence why you have those "warning labels" on albums, even if the labels don't mean jack and almost every store sells the albums anyways.

huh?
a) what does 1920 have to do with today?
b) Racism? really now?

"Women own 50% of the money of the world and 100% of the P**sy....."
So for only $90 mil, Tex is a Yankee. How does it feel to be whipped?

Russell: "This signing just illustrates the racism and bad environment in Boston"
Huh?
Posted by: Little Bear | January 07, 2009 at 08:40 AM
"He's got the quintessential blank look on his face, just like Giambi, Abreu, A-Rod, Chamberlain, et al."
Makes you wonder how Drew ended up in Boston.
Posted by: Little Bear | January 07, 2009 at 08:41 AM
is TEX really worth 180 million....I have never really been that impressed with him from the rangers to the braves....
I can deff say there are better ways to spend all that money

This just in, Texeira poked Werner in the eye at recess and in retaliation Theo is going to Pick Cashman last for dodge ball in gym this afternoon.

So... Boston hates white people?
Posted by: Peagle8 | January 07, 2009 at 10:48 AM
And Russell just continues to illustrate that Yankee fans are running out of things to bash a well run baseball club about. 10-20 plus years ago called it wants its insults back. Get with the times.

If he is faking it, he is a damn good actor after he gets that last out.

The brewer owner is right we need a cap limit in baseball. I mean the yanks are the worst allstar team. they should win every year with the players they have. For crying out loud it should be the yanks vs. the world for the olympics. its a joke. that why i like watching flordia beat the yanks over payed sell outs.
