« Astros "Pretty Well Set" Without Pettitte | Main | Mets Offer Perez Revised Contract »
SI.com's Jon Heyman has heard from MLB executives that a new record of Ben Sheets' medical history "may have sparked some renewed interest in the talented pitcher."
Sheets provided teams with updated information about his health. Heyman learned that previous health reports were not "debilitating," but they had issues. The Rangers, Mets and Brewers are presumably among the teams currently looking over the new information.

A new record of his past injuries? What does that even mean? Were they lying about his injuries the first time?

I don't think that if someone is injury prone, that that changes over night... or an off season for that matter!

It could be a second opinion.
If you go to enough doctors and see different specialities, you're bound to get different diagnoses. Some with less varying degrees of injury.
Or it could be updated info on his health status.
He's still a high level injury risk no matter what this report says.

please do not sign this bum omar... take care of ollie perez and get a corner outfielder. sheets would have been offered a deal if he was worth anything.

not to mention we need a lefty against the even more left handed phillies

Sheets had a 3.09 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP last year, and pitched more innings than Perez.
How is he a "bum"?

No they just found a doctor who says.. sure.. good to go.
I am guessing Dr Feelgood or something along those lines.
