Jason Jennings in 2007 and when he pitched in 2008 had two of the worst seasons for any pitcher in the past 10 years. Why would anybody give him a major league contract?

I see you are a Met fan, and it makes me happy to see that unlike so many of our brethren who are for whatever reason drooling over Tim Redding, you aren't. Why not just spend those $$ on Pedro? He won't cost much more.
** Que 100 Met fans calling me an idiot and insisting Pedro is finished but never providing any argument other then......
"He is shot it's obvious!"
"Do you even like the Mets?"
Do you actually watch the games?"

Man do I feel sorry for the Rockies. I live here in Denver and yesterday when they acquired Marquis only one local news station even reported it during their sports time. And that wasn't even 15 seconds. I don't see the cheap Monforts letting O'Dowd spend any more money. I have a feeling they didn't like eating so much of that $9.875MM. Their modivation was getting rid of Vizcaino because of his DUI recently. That is one thing this team has: a clubhouse with a lot of good guys.

It seems that with many teams not looking to add front of the line pitching like Lowe and Sheets, Redding is drawing the most interest and is becoming an instant winner of this offseason. He is commanding more than he's worth, which no free agent on the market has done.

If you look at his 2006 numbers, where he nearly set a record for Rockies SP ERA...(3.78), he was great that season. He's had injury problems the past two years and could be a low risk-high reward type of signing if he recovers.

“Man do I feel sorry for the Rockies. I live here in Denver and yesterday when they acquired Marquis only one local news station even reported it during their sports time.”
The Rocky and Post have been all over it. Offseason baseball in Denver usually doesn’t make the local news over the typical “cats in trees” kind of stories.
“ And that wasn't even 15 seconds.”
Well, it’s Jason Marquis. He’s not exactly a front line starter. Unless he starts hitting more Grand Slams, I doubt he’ll be making too many headlines as it is. He is practically the definition of an average starter. Also, the trade was dragged out so long, they probably HAD covered it, but when they actually went from 95%=>100%, it was already assumed it would pass, so no need to cover it again.
“I don't see the cheap Monforts letting O'Dowd spend any more money. I have a feeling they didn't like eating so much of that $9.875MM.“
There really aren’t that many guys to spend money on who fit into our team, given the holes. Lowe’s the only one I’m really interested in, and I guess Manny, but I don’t see either of them A. signing to play in Denver, and B. actually living up to what we’d have to spend on them.
“Their modivation[sic] was getting rid of Vizcaino because of his DUI recently. “
Yeah, and you know, his high ERA, WHIP, succeptibility to pitching awfully, his price tag, and his old, hurt arm, not to mention that Marquis is worth more than Vizcaino simply being an inning eating Starter who is about as effective as Vizcaino is as a reliever. But yeah the DUI was clearly the biggest thing.
“That is one thing this team has: a clubhouse with a lot of good guys.”
There’s more than that going for us, but yeah, it’s a good clubhouse.
