Hmm, why would the Twins be interested in Lyon? They certainly don't need a closer and Lyon wasn't a very good closer anyway. With the Twins he'd be just another average right-handed reliever, and given that he's got the closer tag he'd be expensive for a run of the mill reliever. Maybe they think they'd be getting a setup man, but just look at his stats, he wouldn't even be a great setup man. Just another reason why the save stat is so overrated, though I doubt Brandon Lyon agrees with me right now.

He was an awesome setup man before being moved to the closer role, and he wasn't successful at all because he isn't a dominate pitcher.

Still would like to see them go get Cruz but odds are they pick up somone like Borowski than any guy with a hint of talent.

Heaven forbid we do something that would give us any roster flexibility. What an outrageous idea.
