In order to be done making moves, don't you have to make moves in the first place?

wolf should have taken the money from the astros in the 1st place? but its good for the Dodgers cheap investment :-)

I hate the makeup of this team.
The core consists of older players (Oswalt, Berkman, Lee, Tejada, Matsui) and a single quality young cornerstone in Hunter Pence.
The farm system is crap, considering that three of their best six prospects are from the 2008 draft, and they don't have a single potential star in the group.
I'd hate to be an Astros fan right now, honestly.

scribbletone,
"The farm system is crap, considering that three of their best six prospects are from the 2008 draft, and they don't have a single potential star in the group."
Way to go there on pointing out the obvious. I don't understand how you can say that they dont have a potential star in the 2008 draft class. Are you a scout? Let me guess you read Baseball America's newspaper and saw the scouting reports. To say that they do not have a potential superstar in that group is the dumbest thing that I've ever heard. If you're going to make a point then back it up with something solid rather than just state an opinion.

Outside of Ross Seaton and I guess maybe Castro, I haven't read from a single scout anywhere (not Law, not Sickels, not Manuel, not Callis, not Goldstein) that any of the guys in their system are potential stars.
I wasn't stating my opinion, I was reiterating the opinions of highly educated and respected scouts and scouting institutions.
I'm not a scout, but I sure as hell know how to read scouting reports and take something out of them.
Are you a scout? Did you watch Chris Johnson and exclaim, "The NEXT LONGORIA!!!!"
If you're going to make a point, then back it up with something solid rather than just state an opinion.

"I'd hate to be an Astros fan right now, honestly."
Well, then maybe you should just avoid commenting on posts about the 'Stros. You don't like the team, and we fans would rather not see you repeat your opinions in every single Astros post.

Uhh why are you all being so insensitive?
I'm sorry that I think you're team is in an awful position long term..
It has nothing to do with the franchise or anything, I'm sorry you guys can't realistically accept that you're team could be in trouble in a couple years.
I guess I thought people would respond with more respect and maturity, because at no point did I bash your team, those were all logical points.

I meant sensitive.
I guess Astro fans sit with each other talking about how their team will go 162-0 and Roy Oswalt is going to save a bus of orphans from terrorists, rather than realistically analyze their team.

i could easily tell everyone that the astros are the best 2nd half team all-around that i have seen from 06-08.. and yes i started really watching baseball around 06.

Scribbletone is a cubs fan probably. He hates the Astros because of how bad they owned the cubs in the 90s. Its okay man. We don't hate you, so just shut up.

I think my team is in a poor long term position as well, I'm just satisfied because were legitimate contenders in 2009.
