Good grief.. The Mariners ARE NOT going to be able to trade Washburn, Batista or Silva to free money for Abreu. It ain't happenin'. No one wants those overpayed pieces of crud.
If they are going to get another lefty bat, it comes down to Anderson or Griffey.
Just sign Griffey already.

What about J. Washburn and a prospect for Delmon Young?

Varitek passed his physical? I wonder what it consisted of....Obviously NOT catching up to a 92 mph fastball.

Thats already been discussed and it seems to have fallen through. That would be a win-win for Seattle in that they could get Young for LF and sign Griffey or Abreu to DH. Big boost to the lineup.
Too bad it doesn't look likely.

Griffey Jr is the greatest baseball player of all time. Not Mays or Aaron, THE GRIFFSTER!!!! Its debatable how many greenies Mays and Aaron took during their careers. Griffey Jr. the greatest ballplayer that ever has, or ever will, live.

I'm confused, why would Garret Anderson harbor any ill will towards the Angels? Because they paid him all those millions of dollars? Because they faithfully honored their contract with him? Because they paid him like a star when in reality his .obp always held him back? Because they treated him well his whole career?
If you want to look around at all the problems we have in America today it's this kind of thinking that led to them. The Angels absolutely fulfilled their commitment to Anderson, he should be grateful to them (as he is), not upset with them (as Mr. Dwyre seems to think was a possibility). It's all about responsibility and entitlement. If you don't have the first, you think you deserve the second. Anderson seems to understand that but Dwyre apparently doesn't.

G-Man is one of the best personalities in baseball. Wouldn't mind it if he was in a Braves uni

"Going the extra mile"
So that's what we're calling the use of PEDs now?

How about the owners go the extra mile this year too.

Jr. returning to Seattle would be great. His years as a Red didn't go great so ending his career in Seattle would be good for him.
