If Yu is posted, who would have the $ to pay that and a contract? my guess is it would either be a team that needs pitching but is in a place to win or a younger team that could bloom in a yr.

Cubs, probably, in the future.
If it's not 'til 2014, the Yankees will get in on it.
The Red Sox can afford it now, but I'm not sure about in the future.
Mets, maybe, if they have some free cash if/when he's posted.
The Rays, if their budget goes up $100 million.

I saw Yu pitch in the WBC and he looks like a horse. Built really well. I hope it doesnt sound like Im making passes at Mr. Darvish. Yikes. Anyway, saw his numbers too and they looked impressive. Wouldnt mind him playing on my team. Jeez, that just sounded horrible on all fronts.

Who is an okay number 2? Darvish? If you meant Darvish, I don't know how you would make the claim, but if it is Kuroda, I don't remember anybody saying he would be a number one pitcher in the United States. If anything, I thought Huroki had actually exceeded expectations.

I was talking about Kuroda. Im sorry I dont have a link, but at least one of the more popular ESPN writers said he was a #1 in Japan, and could be one in the US. Maybe Im going insane, but I believe some felt hed be a #1.
With Darvish, I only saw him in highlights on ESPN, but he looked really strong and his ball had a good amount of movement. I wonder if Yu could be a #1 in the majors and hope to find out soon. Also, isnt he only in his early 20s?

Yu Darvish is the Tim Lincecum of Japan.
That's how I see it, anyway.

"they are great with Japan because of Ng."
Umm.. isn't Ng of Korean descent? What does that have to do with being "great with Japan"?

Ng is Korean, yes.
And the team that really is big with Japan is the Mariners, because of their Japanese ownership.
