CC and Tex always start off slow.
Please disregard the idiot Yankee fans that make the real ones look bad.
Anyone who knows anything would know that Tex always has a rough April, and Sabathia, even when bad, is giving the bullpen a rest.
I'm not even really a Yankees fan, I just defend them because people blindhate them.
Go Rays n.n

Don't forget the O Dog, Gammons!

Why are the Rangers always offense first...?
Hrmmmm, has he been to the launch ramp that the Rangers play at in Arlington?

Its ONLY April...I urge Yankee fans to just be patient (HA!) to see how the season develops...if they are not good by mid season id be concerned...but they are both slow starters and look where the Yanks are despite everything..
I admit they should be better than this, but thats been the same story for years, unable to reach their potential..
And Arod isnt even back yet...the lineup will be great once he is back, but Pena at 3rd has been a pleasant surprise...

I also wanted to add Pedro as a Yankee might not be a bad idea for depth like the Red Sox who has tons of starting pitching, more depth than anyone that I can recall for the longest time. He might be useful to the Yanks ?

Enough Torii Hunter crap.. He talks and talks with little truth to anything said.. He would make a good used car salesman.

Ransom was a bust for them, and from what I've been watching, Pena seems to be doing pretty good.

If this doesn't prove the east coast bias I don't know what is. We're in a golden age of 2B but there's no mention of anyone left of Texas. Orlando Hudson is probably the best defensive second baseman of the bunch and still manages to hit over .300 but because ESPN only requires selling papers not actually reporting news, the East Coast teams get the spotlight and the West Coast teams get the shaft.
Maybe after the Dodgers win the series this year they'll remember there's two whole divisions they've long forgot about.

And if the Mets have an "edge" then baby kittens have mean streaks.

GScott...no doubt about that whole fact. The western teams get no coverage at all. The only reason we are seeing any Dodger coverage is the Yankee-Torre connection.
But with the Dodgers rotation right now, I think I am sorta happy they are flying under the radar right now. ;)
Apparently Kuo just admitted his arm is fracked and is on the DL.
And to all those "fans" out there pushing Oliver Perez for both the Dodgers and the Braves while the rest of us were saying "you have got to be kidding me", I guess now they know. And Minaya's taste in players has done in the Mets yet again. He has been worse than Colletti by miles and miles.

Yeah, I agree. Too much is being made of CC and Tex. From watching CC pitch with Cleveland he really seems to get better as the weather warms up and he gets his innings in.

Small sample size. Although if the minor league assignment is on the table, Ollie is doing plenty today to justify it being assigned to him. Packing the bases every inning doesn't bode well.

Yeah against Ollie I would bluff aggressive and watch 3 pitches. Its not quite a bad signing yet but it will be determined.

Throw B-Rob in there too, GamGam.

"We brought in different guys who have been involved in some winning, and there's a presence about Sheffield," Minaya said. "He has a presence about him."
That quote from Minaya in the Noble article is CLASSIC. Sheffield has a presence about him all right, like he thinks the game radiates all around him and his attitude shows it. Give him another month until he starts stomping and pouting about playing time for the umpteenth time.
Something about NY teams always ending up with the head case types.

Sheff has been a great teammate so far. He has done everything asked and said all the right things.
"And Minaya's taste in players has done in the Mets yet again. He has been worse than Colletti by miles and miles."
Lol.
As for Ollie, he will be okay. You can argue about the signing, but the big mistake was letting him pitch in the WBC, where he went two weeks without throwing a pitch, then threw about 80 pitches in a start. He has had no spring training. In a month or so, he will be okay. He will still be erratic, but he will be the erratic Ollie that we are used to, right now his release point is crazy inconsistent, his velocity is down, and his command his awful, even for his usual standards.
