If Sabathia is worried about his kid's high school future, he should have signed with Colorado. Apparently, they have good schools.
On a serious note, he's rich enough to send his kid to a private school. I don't know what he's so worried about.

Can't be any worse than CA's schools.

A nation anxiously awaits....WHAT WILL CHRIS DUFFY CHOOSE?!?!?

Borass should shut up about players he doesnt represent. They have their own agents to worry about their rights.

The Mets have quickly developed a reputation for having absolutely no idea how to handle hurt players. We all know what happened with Ryan Church last year, he was rushed back multiple times from post concussion syndrome and it really ruined his season, he still hasn't quite recovered with the bat.
Now with Reyes though, this is just absolutely absurd what is going on. I know I, and many other Met fans felt like something was wrong when he missed all four games in SF, and going into the Dodger series said he still only felt 80 percent. Why are you messing around with such a integral part of not only this years team, but the future of your organization, especially in mid may when at the time, the Mets were in first place?
It is unbelievable. If Reyes was DL'd like he should have been after missing the whole SF series, he would be eligible to be back a couple days from now, likely completely healed. No, instead, we let him take up a roster spot for 5 days, forcing the Mets to play shorthanded, forcing Ramon Martinez to play shortstop and not allowing the team to call up a suitable replacement. Then, we decide to have him pinch hit randomly in some games, give him a start and let him re aggravate this injury, where it now looks like he may have to have a DL stint. I know Argenis Reyes isn't very good, and I know Coronado can't hit his weight, but neither can Ramon Martinez, and atleast the other options can play some defense. We need a real shortstop for a few weeks, I don't care if he is all glove, in fact I almost prefer it.
I'm starting to think you just DL Church and Reyes, you call up Martinez for the next 2 or 3 weeks to play everyday, and bring up Coronado to play shortstop, forget about his bat. The Mets are going to need their pitching and defense to carry them right now, because outside Beltran/Sheffield/Wright, this team is pretty offensively challenged right now. Castro should also be getting more AB's, the team could definitely use his pop.

That will follow Mike Hampton around for ever.

And, Steve Phillips is glad that Colorado has nice schools.

Howard Megdal is a smart man.
And I completely agree with nrmax. If I squint, I can kinda see a justification for hoping to get Reyes into the series in LA, with the risk being you wind up shorthanded on the bench for the AL-style series in Boston. LA's a tough team, you want to have your best team on the field against them.
But the Mets are home now. They're playing NL-style ball again, where a bench is very much a requirement. Three of their next four series are against the Nationals and Marlins. Those teams NL rankings in runs allowed so far this year: 16th and 15th, respectively. This is the time you should be resting your regulars ANYWAY. That way, they can be 100% for the next part of the schedule, which goes: Phillies, Yankees, O's, Rays, Cardinals, Yankees, Brewers, Phillies, Dodgers. That is not an easy stretch, and the convenient soft spot in the schedule right now absolutely begs to be taken advantage of. Unfortunately, I don't know if Jerry Manuel or Omar Minaya are that observant/forward thinking.
For what its worth Jonathan Malo traveled from Buffalo to NY before yesterday's game in case Martinez couldn't play. Personally, I think he should have been activated anyway, and Martinez should have been forced onto the DL or DFA'd. But, at least Malo was there I guess....?
Also, Argenis Reyes hasn't played much SS, I think he'd be choice number 5 best. Counting Reyes and Cora, next would be Coronado and Malo. Notice Ramon Martinez is not listed. Then maybe you take Argenis. After that, in an absolute emergency you start Ruben Tejada's clock at age 19, and then if all of that fails, that's when Ramon Martinez becomes the best long term solution in house.

And that Toronto wasn't interested in a 19 year old third baseman for Jose Cruz Jr.

Yes, then he couldn't endlessly kiss Wright's ass on ESPN, and mention that he drafted him, without taking the grief for trading him for Jose Cruz. That would've been bad.

Nelson Cruz to the Braves for Jair Jurjens

The Rangers better be adding players along with Cruz.

I'd love for the Braves to get cruz but JJ is proabaly their 3rd highest untouchable (behind hanson and heyward). JJ and Hanson have the potential, i said potential not will be, to be a smoltz and maddux tandem for over a decade. JJ is only 23 and a top 20 pitcher already and Hanson is the best rh prospect it the game. As for a Cruz to the Braves trade like BravesRed said, texas needs to add people but i think it is possible for maybe a kris medlen,James parr, and francisely bueno but i'd doubt it

I think JJ is probably the Braves highest untouchable. Me personally, I would never look to move a 23 year old pitcher who is in his 2nd full season and is already developing into an ace. Hanson is a great prospect, but he hasn't proven anything yet (obviously hasn't had the chance). JJ has already done so, and we can be confident in his abilities. Heyward is also still a young prospect, and once again has not had an opportunity to prove his worth. All of them should be virtually untouchable anyways, but if I had to rank my value of them its JJ first, Heyward 2nd and Hanson 3rd.

Frank Wren's dismissal papers must be all ready then.

Texas is in this thing their hoping maybe they can sheets by all star break and then go from there. right now it's hard to argue against them winning the ALW.

Maybe another option for the Braves to consider: Alex Rios
He appears to be falling out of favor in Toronto and could easily fill the braves needs. Contract might be a little issues since it's a long commitment (through 2014 plus an option for 2015)
