According to the team's official Twitter, the Reds have designated outfielder Darnell McDonald for assignment. McDonald, 30, was hitting .175/.250/.225 for Cincinnati in 44 plate appearances. McDonald played all three outfield positions for the Reds, but managed just one extra base hit, a triple.

mcdonald was dfa'd . gomes was called up . ramon ramirez was sent down. carlos fisher was called up. volquez was placed on 15 day dl. homer bailey was called up

And it only took them two months to realize that McDonald isn't a major league caliber player.

All the right moves in my book Jockety must have got sick of Dusty telling him what he wanted to do and just made up his own mind.
