Was Robert Stock taken as a Catcher or Pitcher? Any one know thanks.

Stock was announced as a catcher.
I'm really quite shocked, not only that he signed, but that he signed so quickly.

Anything for Francoeur please. Do it Frank.

Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle says the Giants could really use a power bat.'
I want to say, this man must be a genius. BTW, they need more like 3, not one...

I don't love Jeremy Hermida...far from it...but from what I have heard (him getting released etc.), Francoeur doesn't seem like the top talent he used to be. Hermida's defense is horrifying...but he is on a hot streak. I would rather Emilio Bonifacio for Francoeur...move Coghlan to 3B and Jeremy Hermida to LF.

Hank Schulman is a great beat writer, but a blog post reminding you that the Giants can't hit the side of a barn with a shotgun at five paces isn't really 'news', is it?
Man that lineup stinks with the bat.

He's nuts the Marlins already turned down a Francoeur for Cody Ross trade. Why would they trade Hermida who they can actually get something good for? Francoeur is gonna end being released.

While trading Francoeur away would be great for Atlanta, they need to pick it up as a team before it's too late. As for a Hermida/Francoeur swap, the only negative is that Hermida doesn't swing right handed.

Jeff Francoeur and his 125 BBs in 2,557 career plate appearances!?
Yes, please!
Who would have thought this guy peaked at age 22?

How many more rumors do yall think there will be about Francouer? Seems like it's at least 2 a day everyday now.

"Real men of Geeeeen-iuuuus" We salute you Henry Schulman, Mr dumb ass San Francisco Giants beat writer.

the breves need to trade
roberts/marqauis or scott for johnston/frenchy/kenshin kawakami
Posted by: bravesac | June 15, 2009 at 08:02 PM
The Braves don't need to trade Francoeur they need to tell him that he needs to either except an assignment to triple A Gwinnett or he is going to become a fouth outfielder and then we need to call up Brandon Jones to play LF or RF and hopefully Jeff would except the assignment and fix his swing and get some confidence back and then maybe we could call him back up towards the end of the year but he needs to stay down there for a while unlike last year where he went down for 2-4 days.
GO BRAVES!!!

I would actually take a chance on frency, afterall he is only 25. I would love the Reds to trade for him, i think a change of scenery would be great for him. Maybe he could become our everyday leftfielder. For some reason he reminds me of Austin Kearns, but kearns never really figured it out.

I'd love to see SF get Uggla & either Cantu or Konerko.
Posted by: OhPityMe | June 16, 2009 at 07:42 AM
Why in the hell would the Marlins trade Hermida for Francoeur? That deal makes absolutely 100% no sense unless a real good prospect came along with frenchy.
Posted by: xethicx | June 16, 2009 at 09:15 AM
Francoeur has amazing abilities he can hit he just needs a hitting coach and i just dont like k johnson
.........its amazing to see everyone hate on jeff who has a better avg. than kelly and it barely lower than mcclouth
Posted by: baseballfan | June 16, 2009 at 04:31 PM
I'm sorry to say baseballfan that average doesn't really me jack sh** anymore. I agree KJ sucks as well but look at McClouths slugging as well as OBP and you will see he doesn't belong with those two. BJones would be an upgrade.
Posted by: OklahomaBrave | June 16, 2009 at 07:32 PM
oh i wasn't trying to put nate in with those 2 i was just trying to make a point. and i hate kj the most

1. shumaker LF
2. rasmus CF
3. PUJOLS 1B
4. Phillips 2B / Ludwick RF
5. philips/ludwick
6. Molina C
7. Thurston 3B, we need a better one!
8. Pitcher
9. Brendan Ryan SS
Posted by: cgreif8 | June 17, 2009 at 03:10 PM
phillips could also bat second and maybe rasmus 6th but whatever it would be it is unstopable!
