As MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan reports, Josh Hamilton will miss 4-6 weeks to repair a partially torn abdominal muscle.
Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports believes the Rangers are for real.
He says Jon Daniels is not looking to trade Omar Vizquel.
ESPN.com's Keith Law believes Stephen Strasburg will sign this year. He could be in line for a September debut, perhaps as a reliever.
Law's high on Tyler Matzek, a polished high schooler who should go early in the first round.
As Baseball America's J.J. Cooper reports, Tanner Scheppers boosted his draft stock by pitching in the upper 90s in his final start for the St. Paul Saints.
Tom D'Angelo of the Palm Beach Post says the Marlins could go after pitching with their first round pick, especially since the draft is pitching-heavy early on.
MLB.com's Corey Brock says the Padres will take Dustin Ackley if the Mariners don't.
Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times says Josh Fields found his recent demotion "hard to swallow."

I kinda agree with Fields. I don't understand why Getz gets (wow) to keep his job but no Fields, who at least as shown power in the bigs. Beckham should be at SS with Rameriez sliding over to 2B. But alas, what's done is done I guess.

Kind of bad timing on the article since it was Fields' error in the game today that cost the Sox the game. Fields is just not very good at baseball. Even if Fields were to maximize his potential, your a still looking at a mediocre player at best.

If I'm not mistaken, it was error of "The Golden Child" Ramirez that allowed the runner to reach 2nd. Fielded cleanly, the Sox turn 2. The way Sox fan act, I'm surprised no one is blaming BA for the defeat.

Uh you are mistaken. Fields made the error in the top of the ninth that crossed home plate. Ramirez' error didnt lead to anything. Talk about a fanbase acting a certain way, not suprising that as a cub fan you didnt know what you were talking about.

You have to be able to handle losing in the playoffs to play for the Cubs. Disappointing fans year in and year out and what not. God the Cubs suck.

Fields migth benefit from going to a smaller less win-win market. I've caught about 80% of the Sox games and he's been horrible both ways. I'm an OSU baseball guy too. He needs to go.

I'd say Beckham would be great as a 2B in the future. The Sox can't afford to pull Ramirez's range away from SS right now.

Truly. Anytime you are running Bartolo Colon out there with Wise and Getz. You have to wonder how good your chances are. Thank goodness the Central is weak this season.

Where does this comment come from? I can only think of 2 regulars who are "black", Dye and Ramirez, and Ramirez isn't actually black.
