"It's not his eyes, after all. David Ortiz can see just fine according to John Tomase of the Boston Herald."
Why can't Ortiz just admit: 1.) He can't hit without Manny in the line-up, 2.) He can't hit without a little "help.", and 3.) he's done.

"ESPN.com's Rob Neyer responds to Eddie's post about the mystery shortstop the Red Sox have interest in, saying it's "probably not" Yunel Escobar."
Well, yeah.
The guy doesn't turn 27 until after the season, is under control through 2012, has a career .300/.369/.423 line in 1160 PA, and is a solid defensive shortstop with a good arm. It would cost a haul to land him, something like Jed Lowrie, Michael Bowden, Michael Almanzar and a low level guy. And the Braves are still trying to win, so my guess is that they'd like to keep their star shortstop and possibly their third best hitter.

Okay, I am just a fan, I don't know salaries or contracts or anything but how bout this, Braves send Kawakami to Yankees for Nady, Braves clear up salary cap room, access there options from there, would like to send Failcour to KC in some type of package for Farnsworth, does this make sense? GO BRAVES!

^^ Makes more sense than Neyer's Escobar for Lugo, couple prospects and 14 mil....make those prospects Lars Anderson and Bard and you gotta deal!

"Braves send Kawakami to Yankees for Nady"
Don't see this happening. The Yankees seem fine with pitching with Phil waiting in the bullpen, and there is no way they take on that salary and lose a solid platoon player like nady (who can barely throw yet and will be limited to DH for awhile so doesn't fit the braves).

Escobar to BoSox for the green monster, Bard, Bay, Francona, and the hottest chick in the stadium at the time. No way the BoSox pull off a trade for Yunel.
