« Reds Sign Kip Wells | Main | Reds Interested In Atkins? »
Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer says that the Indians are not interested in signing BJ Ryan even though they nearly signed him four years ago. Instead, Hoynes says the Indians are interested in Jimmy Gobble, who was just designated for assignment by the White Sox. If the Indians do acquire Gobble, Hoynes says the lefty would be assigned to AAA. Gobble allowed 14 hits and seven walks in 12 innings this season, striking out ten.
Alyson Footer of MLB.com also reports that Ed Wade said the Astros do not have any interest in signing Ryan, or Pedro Martinez for that matter.

They value Gobble over Ryan?
Let that be warning to all you fans with the "I hope (my team) gets Ryan! He can help us"
I wonder if Ryan will have to go to the independent leagues to find a new job and place to prove himself. We havent heard of anyone showing interest, which is more then a tad strange if you ask me. Is he a mental case on top of now having only a 87 MPH Fastball and 81 MPH Slider?

Not sure why anyone would want to join the Tribe bullpen this year. Everyone who goes there ends up embarassing themselves.

cleveland can have gobble. my sox only used him to eat up innings when we were either getting blown away, or doing the blowing.

Has anybody ever played for three teams in same division in one season?

I'd like them to go for Jimmy Gobble. He's a young pitcher that has a good chance of becoming a better pitcher.
