Happy Canada Day Ben!

I almost want to keep Glaus right now due to the Cards lack of offense, but a few teams could use him and we could net something of value in return. DeRosa could play the hot corner almost full time. On a side note, Does Ankiel ever take a pitch? GEEZ!!!

"Omar Minaya has been negligent when it comes to filling out his roster with talented role players."

As much as I'd love to see us trade Glaus, I don't think it will happen. It will be a few weeks before he is back with the big club, but then questions arise about what he can do. Is he a 1b? A DH? 3B? Where is his value. It's all very dependent on how strong his shoulder is, and how well he performs offensively.
Regardless of how well he does in his few PAs before the deadline, I don't think those few PAs will be enough of a sample size. If the Cards trade him, they will not get the kind of value that his bat his worth AND they will probably have to eat at least half his salary.
I say keep Glaus. If his bat heats up, and he's able to play 3B, then I say we move DeRosa to second, move Skip back to the outfield, and trade one of our outfielders. All of them besides Rasmus are expendable anyway.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post says Omar Minaya has been negligent when it comes to filling out his roster with talented role players.
That is not a fair statement since all the guys who were to be role players (Cora/ Sheff) are forced to play due to injuries. Plus in the last couple of years he signed Tatis, Valentin, Easley, Santos and others who did very good job as role players and when forced into starting roles

For all you smart alex who think that Omar Minaya has done even a decent job are absolutely wrong. He has two good role players in Sheffiled and Cora but take a look at the names of has been who are taking up space on the 40 man roster and then come back to me.
Elmer Dessens,
Arturo Lopez,
Livan Hernandez,
Pat Misch,
Carlos Muniz,
Ollie Perez,
Carlos Delgado,
Tim Redding,
Brian Stokes,
Ken Takahashi,
Robinson Cancel,
Brian Schneider,
Ramon Martinez,
Argenis Reyes,
Luis Castillo,
Fernando Tatis,
Pagan,
Jeremy Reed,
Cory Sullivan,
Billy Wagner,
AND Lance Broadway
The majority of these guys do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for the Mets and that is why Sherman is correct and gets paid for actually writing his articles. EXCELLENT SHERMAN...

Would the BoSox be interested in Glaus? Maybe move Youkilis to 3rd and use Glaus at first?

glaus for attkins? attkins is a better hitter, as of start of june hes batting 306.
it would be tough for glaus to come back and play third with that shoulder and also hit behind my man pujols, cant see why not to trade him
