Some more links as we count down to the big weekend...
- Diamond Leung reports that the Dodgers traded minor-league pitcher Stephen Randolph to the Royals. Randolph, who was named in the Mitchell Report, pitched well as a starter in Triple A this month.
- Aroldis Chapman's whereabouts remain unknown, according to ESPN.com.
- Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post says "Clint Hurdle would not have fallen on his sword had the 'pen been mighty under his watch." Or, in less poetic terms, the Rockies have an improved bullpen.
- Signees from the Dominican Republic will now have to take DNA tests to prove their identity before leaving the country, according to Kiley McDaniel of Baseball Prospectus.
- As ESPN.com's Keith Law reports, the Twins have agreed to sign German catcher Max Kepler for an undisclosed amount.
I hope this Chapman doesn't have a tragedy, like Ray did, many years ago. I suspect kidnapping myself- ransom money from a signing bonus. This is truly awful if something happened. I just hope he's okay.
Kepler: A response move to possibly losing Mauer in the near future, perhaps? I think Mauer would resign, but, hey. Strange things happen in these major leagues.

Signing a 16-year old German outfielder has no connection to Joe Mauer or any other Major League player. The Twins have been one of the top teams in terms of signing European players, so this is nothing out of the ordinary.
That's true of all teams- amateur signings are not made with regard to the 25-man roster.

unbiased, he is keeping his whereaboouts unknown. He is trying to get to the states before saying where he is. He is OK...

Yes we play Baseball over here. It's growing bigger.

The Twins scout everywhere! Somewhere in the frozen tundra of Siberia they are thawing out an ambidextrious pitcher right now.

Hehe... the Yankees have an ambidextrious pitcher in their system. His name is Pat Venditte, a legit prospect; he's quite dominant. Just got promoted to Tampa a few weeks ago.
So is Billy Wagner, to an extent. He writes with his right hand, but wanted to be a lefty. That's working out pretty well. If you want your memory truly tested- there's Greg Harris.
