The White Sox designated pitcher Jimmy Gobble for assignment, according to Dan McCaleb of the Northwest Herald. They signed him to a minor league deal back in April, but he disappointed in 12 innings. The 27-year-old lefty allowed 14 hits and seven walks, striking out ten.

Not big news - but it means the either Anderson or Wise will be off the team after the AS break when Quentin returns.

Wise will. He needs way more reps to get back on track and he isn't getting them by playing once a week.

Wise will be off the team when Quentin returns. Brian brings much more value as a 4th OFer than Wise does. Wise is a terrible fielder and can't hit, Anderson is the best defensive fielder on the team.
