Well with Atkins as a non tender, expect him to be the 3rd baseman the Twins sign, letting Beltre go to the Phils.

Atkins batted much better at home, however his Hr totals seemed better on the road, and rbis were comparable.

Atkins may be a buy low option for several teams. Would the Giants be a suitor if they don't pull in a 1b and move KFP to first? Twins, Mariners, Angels???

Pretty sure they want KFP at 1st anyways lol. I think the Giants could get Crede this year and he should do better then he did with the Twins. Warm weather outside would help anyones back.

If your priority is to retain Rafeal Betancourt, either your team is perfect the way it is, or your priorities are out of whack.

"The Rockies do not plan to tender Garrett Atkins a contract"
How many blown trade opportunities does that mark? Over the last two seasons as his name was rumored it was clear the team should have made a move. The fact they didnt ends up looking more then foolish now that the end has arrived.

Agree with patsfanatic. I've been thinking the Twins are targeting Atkins all along, he fits the mold of Twins guy, good fundamental player, good clubhouse guy, just on bad run. Should be a cheap-ish option.

Have you ever been in San Francisco in the summer?

I am very interested in the Royals looking into aquiring Hawpe. Maybe we could send Maier and Callapso that way?

Why would the Rockies trade for callaspo? Not going to happen. They already have barmes an Eric young jr at second and would rather one of them than to trade for another guy. I could see hawpe being traded but I don't really se anything the Rockies would be looking to upgrade without sending a package deal for a big upgrade. Maybe a Brad Hawpe, Jorge De La Rosa, and Chacin for Halladay? Probably not but it would make a little bit of sense but it seems unlikely to actually happen. I hope to see them make a good deal or two before next year

Ian - Sorry but the rules of Royals trading don't apply to all teams in the majors.
Whomever, in KC, decided that a whole bunch of below average players added up equal an above average player is wrong.
Besides, if the Rockies want to add offense, it will be in the form of slugging percentage, hr's, and right handers. Not utility men because we have a plethora of those.
