Wells is still the issue. With Halladay and Ryan coming off the books they certainly have more financial flexibility. But he’s still taking up a spot.

I think it’s fair to say that a lot of these guys will be moved this year.

wells makes much more, this is from cots
# $25.5M signing bonus ($8.5M payment each March 1, 2008-10)
# 08:$0.5M, 09:$1.5M, 10:$12.5M,
11:$23M, 12:$21M, 13:$21M, 14:$21M
so in 2010 he will be given a 8.5$ signing bonus and a salary of $12.5 so in total his comp for 2010 is $21 million

What Tim said was that VW’s compensation INCREASES by $10.5MM next year, although net of this year’s final installment on the signing bonus, the next extra cost is $2MM.

wells makes a lot but I think people should calm down about it, AA has said many times that his contract isn’t stopping the Jays from doing ANYTHING that they want to do.
and for now, can’t complain about 3 home runs in 2 games 😛

I guess they didn’t want to keep AJ Burnett or Roy Halladay.
