Huh. I wonder what this means. Could a trade be in the works, or is this to get another minor leaguer into the 40-man? Reveal your secrets, AA!

Yes, curious minds want to know… could it be preparation for promoting Wallace?

or their looking at some guys potentially on waivers.

is wallace not already on the 40-man?
D_Clayts
Actually he isn’t, which makes sense.. Anthopolous Seems to have his heart set on having Wallace spend the whole season in AAA which would have basically wasted one of Wallace’s minor league options.. It may not seem like much but options can become key, just look at the Angels’ situation with Brandon Wood earlier in the year.

Walace is not on the 40-man, so the option clock is not running. No option impact until he is placed on the 40-man. The Angels’ situation with Brandon Wood was mostly the result of his hitting .137 every time they called him up – they had to send him down every year while he was in the process of proving that he couldn’t hit major leaguer pitching. That’s unlikely to be the case with Wallace.

Yeah that was sort of what I was getting at in terms of the options, but yeah I seriously doubt Wallace will have much trouble adjusting to big-league pitching.
On a side note, I can’t think of anybody who they are going to add to the 40man aside from Wallace now.. I doubt it will be McGowan as he’s suffered yet another setback..

Scott Richmond is making rehab starts. Could be activated from the 60-day in the next month or so. However with so many pitchers (like Rey Gonzalez and Luis Perez) on the 40-man, you’d think they could’ve optioned one of them instead.
