I completely agree with Adam on his statement. Him and the Green Monster would have been best friends. I also think he would have led the league in doubles if he stayed with the Red Sox.

He has the ugliest swing I’ve ever seen.

I agree, but in the stat book a hit is a hit.

I actually wondered if that is exactly what happened, they got him and saw that swing then sent him packing.

Jay Payton is employed right now!?

I’m confused as to why, out of all the minor league players out there (that were former major leaguers) why was Jay’s name mentioned? I know he’s batting .320 right now, but so are a lot of other players on other teams. Look at the Bisons. Now, that’s some bait.

Well if his name surfaced in a Cafardo article, its likely because Payton played for the Sox for a brief period of time.

Seriously. What year is this?

I’m not even an Astros fan, and I’m tired of Drayton McLane being motivated by things other than building a franchise.

Hmm, a contending team in the opposite league with the best farm system in the game needs starting pitching from a team 17 games under 500 and yet theres skepticism? Glad I’m not an Astros fan

Pedro Feliz? Seriously? Happy Pete hasn’t hit in years (and even then, he barely did; career-best batting runs: 2.3). This year, he’s managed to add poor fielding (-22 UZR/150) to his resume.
Why would a contender want this guy? Even for free?
