Lucky KC. Somebody’s gonna overpay.
55saveslives
This is the OF version of Freddy Sanchez. Not the big bat we need. Unless Giants concede we are a small ball team. AND bench Rowand!!!!!
Torres CF
Sanchez 2B
DeJesus RF
Huff 1B
Uribe SS
Sandoval 3B
Burrell LF
Posey C
BLB25
Rowand has pretty much already been benched. But Dejesus would need to replace Molina to make this worthwhile.
Oscar G.
Yeah we got to get Molina out of here
Oscar G.
they should also go for Roy Oswalt
since the 5th spot of the giants rotation is very weak
Wilsonl
No salary room.. he makes $15M and we don’t really need him, bring up Bumgarner or something..
jb226 2
You want Oswalt because your fifth starter is weak?
*head explodes*

I’d take an outfield version of Sanchez right now, as well as a catching version, a fifth pitching version, a managing version and a gm version.

Unfortunately the catching, managing and gm are all the Todd Wellemeyer versions 🙁

You’re not lying!

I don’t think the Redsox go after this one.
ChrisCa$h
You really don’t think so? I feel he is a perfect fit, he will pick up sum speed lacking from jacobys absence, and can play next year when camerons gone
mike_sox
that would make sense, except cameron is signed to a two year deal
ELPinchy
ah beat me to it.
ChrisCa$h
Unaware he signed a two year deal, would be perfect if he were to be a free agent at the end of this season
ELPinchy
they signed him and scutaro as part of the ‘two year bridge period’, they believe that they will have minor league talent developed by then to fill those spots. It is the same reason they wont likely go after Dejesus.
ChrisCa$h
How about berkman?
Bye Bye Baby Bonanza
How about Corey Hart in Milwaukee?

There’s a reason DeJesus why DeJesus hasn’t played that much RF in his career, his arm is crap. His UZRs haven’t been good in center. He’s a left fielder, GMs shouldn’t think otherwise.

As a KC fan I’m loving every minute of this. By the time the farm system produces he’ll be a leftover non-baserunning-relic who would do better on another team. I hope the Royals deal him…and fast. His stock has never been higher.
That’s not to say I don’t think he’s value-added to another team right now. It’s just that he’s not a part of the 2012 – 2015 run the team will make, and if someone is willing to deal more prospects who will be ready in that same timeframe let’s make a deal!
The minor league system for the Royals has made monsterous progress in the last 4 years. When it blossoms it’s gonna be big! Patience is the watch-word.
BLB25
how long has patience been the watch-word in KC?
Otis26
A while for sure. But it’s different this time. There’s real talent in the minor league system. Not just hope.

Very true, Northwest Arkansas Naturals (AA) won their division for the first half of the season. Omaha (AAA) has looked very good this year as well. With some promise from the lower levels with Eric Hosmer and Wil Myers both having stand out seasons.

You don’t often hear this.

As a Braves fan I wouldn’t give up nothing more than a couple C+/B- prospects for DeJesus. Maybe JJ Hoover and Cody Johnson for DeJesus
bbxxj
I do like DeJesus but he doesn’t have the power to match who we have currently at the corners and while he ‘can’ play CF I really don’t think I would want him out there everyday. Right now Melky is producing enough offensively and defensively that he doesn’t need to be replaced.
dal
Giants don’t need him. The outfield is fine as is. The only trades the Giants should make are for bullpen help and/or a bat with some pop.
Brv Rocks
I don’t really understand Braves fans clamoring so much for DeJesus. If you look at the career numbers he isn’t that much better offensively than Melky, he is worse defensively, he isn’t a switch hitter, and makes more money. If he were a 20 to 25 HR threat I could understand it. Giving up more than a couple of B prospects for him is insanity.
If the Braves want to give up some good prospects they need to go for a younger guy with a little more power like a Chris Young (if he is made available). If the D-Backs are interested the Braves have tons of young pitching that they could part with.
Yankees420
Chris Young’s career slash line: .241/.312/.444, his season so far is nice, but his BABIP is .37 higher than his career and he’s still barely putting up an above average OBP (.341). I would not be comfortable if my team gave up quality prospects for Young.
