Beyond The Box Score is proof that not all bloggers know what they’re talking about. I don’t know many true Braves fans that are unhappy with trading away Esco.
Sure, he MIGHT have a high upside, but so did Frenchy. His attitude is horrible, he’s hitting for crap, not driving in runs.. They’re in a win now mode w/ Chip/Bobby all but sure of retirement next year.
I’m excited, sometimes you just have to cut your losses.
Hopefully Esco finds his groove on another team, most of the Braves sure weren’t happy playing for him.
I mean, they did give Alex a standing ovation when he entered the clubhouse. What does that tell you?

Not at all. But the trade makes sense for the Braves. It’s not hard to see that.

I’m a true Braves fan and I’m not happy with the trading of Escobar…. I’m glad Escobar gets a fresh start and away from Atlanta and all the negative attention he received while there. I’m also tired of reading hateful comments about the guy on various websites. I don’t want to get into saying certain things, but it’s pretty ridiculous the amount of hate people have for this guy! He is a baseball player who has some problems, people talk like he is the reason little kids get cancer or don’t receive Christmas presents! Best of luck to the guy!

Are you happy with Escobar’s performance this year? let’s not bring up last year. That doesn’t matter anymore.
He’s a slackass, doesn’t hustle, makes boneheaded plays. Yes, fancy glove and a damn good defender.
It wasn’t work. Like I read somewhere… “You have to be a pretty bad person to not be liked by Bobby Cox.”

Did I just read Ryan Zimmerman mention as a possible DH for The Yankees???
elmedius
yes, i beleive you just did…

and oddly enough in the playstation world where zimmerman goes to the yankees for montero… he would apparently play arod at 3rd and dh zimm… more and more interesting.

Yeah…that was a waste of words. Zimmerman ain’t going anywhere, even for Jesus Montero, and apparently the Yankeeist is the only one who doesn’t know that.

Dunn for Montero and making Dunn DH would make sense, but Zimmerman? Yeesh. The stupid train made a stop on River Avenue.

A solid two or three AL teams at least should go for the kill by acquiring Dunn. He’d make a lovely DH in Tampa or first baseman in Texas.

It’s a trade history between the Kansas City A’s and New York Yankees…not the Royals.
Koby2
And it still says Royals an hour later.

Crime dog, thanks for the autograph all those years ago!
And as for acquiring Dunn, I don’t think it’s realistic, because I don’t think Rizzo will accept a deal that doesn’t have Montero and honestly I’d rather have whatever Delgado/anyone that doesn’t cost Motero can give at the DH spot than Dunn – Montero.

The Dodgers are not going anywhere it might be a good time to give there young prospects a hard look for next year. Maybe bring them up to pitch a few games. The young core will have another year under there belts and since McCourt does not want to sign first round picks, has sold off his best prospects, has spent a sum north of 20 million to fight it out in court against his wife, it may be time to do what was done in San Diego. They had a rough time but look no worse for the wear. It might be time to dump Kemp while he is at the top of his value, before he pulls a Raul Mondesi on the team and have no value.
